近期,我院教师特聘教授康鑫博士受邀参加在香港举办的Innovations in Language Assessment会议并做了以“What leads to the success of foreign language learning? Genetic and behavioral evidence from French,German, and Spanish learners in Hong Kong”为题目的讲座。此次会议邀请了亚洲及其他地区的学者,共同探讨人工智能、机器学习等前沿发展对语言评估的影响。

在此次讲座中,康鑫博士分享了与香港中文大学教授Patrick Wong等学者共同开展的基因与语言学习的前沿工作。该研究招募了近1000名法语、德语和西班牙语学习者,通过综合分析他们的父母的社会经济地位、人口信息(如年龄)、音乐学习背景、学习动机、第一语言、第二语言和第三语言掌握的熟练程度以及基因样本。研究结果支持外语学习依赖于先前语言学习经验之间的共享学习条件影响。从第一语言到第三语言学习的过程中,遗传因素的影响逐渐减弱,而后天因素逐步显著。
康鑫博士此次分享的研究从生物基础的角度出发,探讨了影响外语学习成功的重要因素,对语言评估范式提供了新的认知和启发。
